Clear instructions for the work assigned
Good service starts with understanding the work. During onboarding, discuss the cleaning tasks, property instructions, and methods needed for your service plan.
Task-based instructions
Cleaning instructions should explain the assigned methods, surfaces, equipment and product handling for each task. The work should match the agreed scope rather than rely on a generic promise that everything is covered.
Property-specific expectations
Document the areas, schedule, access requirements and any site-specific instructions before service starts. Update the plan when the approved scope changes, and identify who to contact when a question arises.
Color-coded cleaning practices
Color coding can help keep cleaning tools assigned to the intended areas. Discuss the site’s requirements and the handling, laundering and replacement of cloths and mop materials as part of the agreed procedures.
The appropriate tools and methods depend on the surfaces and scope. A color system alone is not a guarantee against cross-contamination.
Product and equipment guidance
Discuss the product directions, relevant safety data, equipment instructions, and protective equipment appropriate to the assigned work. Specialized environments or tasks may require additional qualifications and a separate scope review.
Connect instructions with reporting
Use onboarding to confirm how property instructions, questions, and service reports will be communicated through your point of contact. Include site-specific requirements in the proposal conversation before service begins.
